The AGC, West Central Ohio Division and the MV Building Trades Apprenticeship Group partnered with the Montgomery County Educational Services Center to participate in a workshop held entitled “Deep Dive: Connecting the Work; Career Awareness and Planning” Aileron Center hosted the conference coordinated by the Montgomery County ESC.
An objective of the workshop was to identify in-demand industries and to share information on career pathways in those areas. As the Construction Industry was identified as one of the in-demand industries, the County ESC staff invited the AGC, West Central Ohio Division and the Apprenticeship Coordinators Group to participate. With the Ironworkers Training Center located within two miles of the Aileron Center, workshop attendees were invited to attend a tour and receive information on Apprenticeship Training at the Ironworkers location in Tipp City.
On Wednesday, July 12th, approximately 30 High School Educators and ESC staff spent two hours at the Ironworkers Training Center. A tour was led by Mike Yauger, Ironworkers LU #290 Training Coordinator. After the tour, information on apprenticeship training was presented by five (5) Apprentice Coordinators and Deb Rhodes. A special guest, Ohio Senator Bill Beagle attended the session and shared his thoughts on apprenticeship training.
